Rubbings to apron
Hi ladies I now have a unique bright apron, featuring the rubbings piece that I created at the Sue Dennis workshop. The plain white fabric went from this ... Rubbings on white cotton fabric To this - painted and further marked .... Painted and added marks To this! Happy apron I did try some free motion stitching on one section but did not continue as I thought it detracted from the rubbings design. I'm really happy with the end result - a lovely and bright apron with deep pockets! What have you done with your workshop pieces? Happy making!
A real mixed media two pages here. On the left, acrylic painted collaged flowers with stamped stems, stitched onto reverse side of fabric. The base is linen with some rusting and tea stained. On the right, an old hanky painted and embellished with tea stained lace to make a pocket. Tag is an embroidered flower on tea bag tissue backed with muslin and fabric. The base of this page is an eco dyed paper machine stitched onto fabric. In case you were wondering 😂
ReplyDeleteThat's fabulous Carolyn .. what is the fabric under the acrylic painted flowers and the butterfly - on top of the linen backing? It looks as though it has been distressed? Amazing textures. And I adore the lace pocket on the right.
