Make Create Day @ 11th Avenue Creative
What a fabulous time we had at Palm Beach this morning as part of Gold Coast City Libraries Make Create Day.
2025 in review: January
The new year kicked off in fine form with Pat giving an inspiring presentation on eco-dyeing. Following up with a fun activity doing rust and turmeric dyeing on fabric and paper. These treasures have made a number of appearances throughout the year as thy have been incorporated into journals, collage and various stitching projects. This was followed up by Show 'n' tell where our creatives brought out a truly impressive array of pieces showcasing a diverse range of technique and creativity. There was quilting, doll making, collage, storytelling, calligraphy and a beautiful collection of textile art journals.
There was a real buzz with the market stalls of a wide range of groups including artists, embroiderers, knitters and textile artists. A great morning!
ReplyDeleteThanks to all the WW on the stall today. A wonderful display, thanks to Leona for organising. Fantastic creative activity propelled by Carolyn and Maggie. We have a good start to our luggage tag exhibition piece for next September. Memorable and coveted translated to sold creative gems by Margret and Eileen. The green pieced apron is beautiful! Not forgetting our willing helpers and friends, Hilary, Chris, Lilyan, Rita. Great to have your support! We sold quite a few items and created interest for 2 possible new members. Amelia hosted and helped us all. THANK-YOU EVERYONE.
